She is renowned for her compositions that alternate small touches of colour arranged side by side with larger rectangular or square areas of colour. Typically, these elements leave very little of the canvas bare and are spread evenly, without centres or margins, over the entire surface. She used bright and pure colours, including reds, oranges, purples, blues, and greens together. Her still lifes are set on abstract, decorative backgrounds with no sense of depth or realism. Her paint is sometimes applied with a light impasto, enhancing the presence of matter.
