Died in 1544, Nanjing, China, aged 61.

He spent most of his life in China, particularly in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. While most of his career unfolded in southern China, he spent some time in Nanjing and was influenced by the intellectual and artistic atmosphere of these cultural centers.

He typically painted landscapes, flowers, and bamboo, with a particular focus on capturing the beauty and tranquillity of nature. Chen Chun's works often feature lush, poetic depictions of flora, such as lotus flowers, orchids, and peonies, along with the graceful portrayal of bamboo and birds.
